Salt Lake City houses a number of museums and cultural establishments which showcase its vibrant history and heritage. The Chase Museum of Utah Folk Arts gives visitors a unique view of contemporary Utah through the traditional artworks of Indian Tribes, different ethnic groups, and locals of rural heritage. Here, you can see rugs, woodcarvings, saddles, rawhide braiding, Ute beadwork, needlework, Navajo baskets and more.

The Utah Museum of Fine Arts houses over 17,000 works of art including African; Oceanic and the New World; Asian; the Ancient and Classical World; European and American art pieces. You should also check out the current exhibitions on display in the museum.

Salt Lake City Utah Sports and Outdoor Recreation

Nature lovers would be pleased to know that Utah has 21 National Parks where visitors and locals alike can go hiking, biking, boating, floating, camping or enjoy other outdoor activities. In the winter, go skiing in Salt Lake City’s many ski resorts including the Alta Ski Area which offers a wide variety of terrain and the best snow conditions, not to mention scenic views.

Drop by Energy Solutions Arena and catch the Utah Jazz contend for a playoff spot against 30 other NBA teams for a shot at the title. Or maybe watch a concert and other live performances at this famous sports and entertainment facility.

Golfers can come practice their swing at Salt Lake City’s many golf courses. Bonneville Golf Course, one of the most popular 18-hole courses in Utah, is known for its hilly terrain and tricky greens. The Mountain Dell Canyon Course features a traditional mountain layout with cool elevation changes and challenging greens. Enjoy a view of Parley’s Canyon but keep an eye out for wandering moose.
