Powder Mountain is being hailed as Utah's next best major resort. Yet it remains rather unnoticed and underrated by road trippers.
It has over 7,000 skiable acres - larger than Colorado's own, Vail. It gets an annual 500 inches which is comparable to most ski resorts.
But since there are about seven world-renowned resorts between Powder Mountain and Salt Lake city, it doesn't get very many visitors so there's plenty of space to go around.
Go on a roadtrip from Salt Lake City to Powder Mountain and have a spectacular ski experience.
Some may consider having only four chairlifts and three surface lifts a drawback, but Powder Mountain makes up for that by having its own helicopter and two Snowcats that can take you up to areas such as Lightning Ridge and its tree runs and bowls.
You can continue your journey up to Hidden Lake Lift to the backside and head to Powder Country. The region offers another 1,200 acres of plunging fall lines and 1,800 of vertical drops.
